EXHIBITION
February 11 to March 24, 2022 Mexico's Cultural Institute in France, Paris

The Cultural Institute of Mexico in France presents a hundred paintings and graphic works by Roger von Gunten (1933), produced from the late 1950s to the present, in the first French retrospective dedicated to this master of color who occupies a singular place in the artistic landscape of contemporary Mexico.

Roger Von Gunten's style and use of color is unique, blending the rigorous discipline and habit of his craft with a natural, tropical flow of his own imagination. Showing images that come out of her, she is able to transform them into shapes and colors that lift the spirits of any passerby who, with a willingness to observe, finds a moment of tranquility in a fast-paced world.

Painting is for me a creative and concrete craft. It is enough to use the visual elements of color, form and manual technique to materialize an image in which the interior message can be transmitted to that spectator capable of contemplating it in a participatory way.

"I believe that culture represents the innate splendor of human consciousness, that which illuminates the sky like a rainbow through the different artistic disciplines."

Art exhibition and sale.
